The project consists of the demolition of a 10,000-sf existing lunch shelter and student store, and replacement with 3 new lunch shelters totaling 8,700 sf and a new 1,100 sf student store. Structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, low-voltage and fire protection elements are included in the scope of work.
Architectural Vision
A key design intention is to relate new project elements to surrounding buildings on this high school campus, which was first constructed in 1922 and meets the criteria for listing in both the National Register of Historic Places and the California Register of Historical Resources.
Sustainability
Ancillary scope includes an outdoor lunch plaza with new landscaping, path-of-travel improvements from Venice Blvd., and renovation of restrooms for accessibility.
